ADAMTS13 Antibody
Justification
Detection of ADAMTS13 specific IgG antibodies may be an indication of a poorer prognosis for patients with abnormally low ADAMTS13 activity levels with a positive inhibitor.

ALTERNATIVE NAMES | VWF-Cleaving Protease Antibody, ADAMTS-13 Antibody Titer |
DESCRIPTION | Chromogenic ELISA for the quantitative detection of anti-ADAMTS13 antibodies. ADAMTS13 is an enzyme that specifically cleaves large von Willebrand Factor multimers, which induce platelet thrombus formation under high shear stress. If the activity of ADAMTS13 is lowered for some reason, unusually large VWF multimers may accumulate. |

NORMAL RANGE | < 12 U/mL |
ASSOCIATED TESTING | ADAMTS13 Gene Sequencing; aHUS Genetic Panel; TMA-Complete Genetic Panel |
