Lupus Anticoagulant Index

Justification

The lupus anticoagulant index has been shown to be sensitive to weak lupus anticoagulants. The presence of antiphospholipid antibodies, such as lupus anticoagulant, increases the risk of arterial thrombosis, venous thrombosis, thrombocytopenia and recurrent miscarriage. Lupus anticoagulants result in the prolongation of clotting times which correct with the addition of phospholipids.
