Platelet Electron Microscopy
Justification
Platelet electron microscopy is considered a gold standard test for detecting ultrastructural abnormalities in inherited platelet disorders, such as dense granule (delta) storage pool deficiency due to acquired and inherited causes. For maximum sensitivity, this test should be ordered in conjunction with platelet aggregation studies.
